Once upon a time, a man was crossing the river by boat when he accidentally dropped his precious sword into the water. His companions urged him to jump into the water and search for it immediately, but he just laughed and took out a small knife to carve a mark on the side of the boat, saying: "Don't worry, my sword fell from here. When the boat docks, I can find it easily by following this mark."
Everyone was puzzled, but he confidently explained: "My sword fell at this fixed position. As long as I find this mark, I can easily retrieve my treasure."
After the boat docked, he dived into the water according to the mark, but failed to find the sword. Everyone shook their heads and sighed, while he could only stand there awkwardly.
Moral:
This story tells us that things are constantly changing and developing. We cannot stick to old ways of thinking when solving problems. If we only focus on past positions without considering changes in actual circumstances, we may end up going in the wrong direction or wasting our efforts in vain.
