I once walked from Hengtang to Tiger Hill, several miles away. As evening fell, the grass, trees, and mist blended with the distant horizon. Upon entering the gate, I was greeted by clear springs and peculiar rocks, as well as towering ancient trees. Following the stream, I heard the gentle sound of flowing water, reminiscent of the music of zither and lute; climbing step by step, the mountain grew steeper, with pavilions and towers scattered along the way. At each spot, there were inscriptions—poems or essays—left behind by scholars throughout history.
As night deepened, the moonlight illuminated the mountainside like a silver ribbon. My companions and I sat around a stone platform, drinking wine and laughing heartily. Suddenly, we heard the faint melody of stringed instruments coming from afar, melodious and soothing, captivating everyone's attention. After some time, a singer appeared, singing about human joys and sorrows, leaving us all deeply moved.
