Title: Lost in the City
Characters:
- Jack (a tourist)
- Sarah (a local guide)
- Taxi Driver
Setting: A busy city street with shops, cafes, and people walking by.
Scene 1: At the Train Station
(Jack is standing at the train station looking confused. He has a map in his hand but seems to be struggling with it.)
Jack: (to himself) Oh no, where am I? This isn’t the hotel I booked.
(Sarah walks up to him, smiling warmly.)
Sarah: Excuse me, are you lost?
Jack: (startled) Yes! I’m supposed to meet my friends at the hotel, but I can’t seem to figure out how to get there from here.
Sarah: No worries! Let me help you. Where exactly are you trying to go?
Jack: It’s called “The Grand Hotel.” Do you know it?
Sarah: Of course! That’s just a few blocks away. Let me show you the way.
(They start walking together.)
Scene 2: On the Street
(As they walk, Jack pulls out his phone to check directions again.)
Jack: Wait… let me see if Google Maps can help.
Sarah: You don’t need an app for this route. Just follow me.
(They turn a corner and see a bustling street filled with shops and cafes.)
Jack: Wow, this place looks amazing! What do you recommend?
Sarah: Well, if you’re hungry, there’s a great little café down that street. They serve the best coffee and pastries.
Jack: Perfect! I could use some caffeine after all this stress.
(They enter the café and order drinks.)
Scene 3: In the Café
(Jack and Sarah sit down at a small table. Jack sips his coffee happily.)
Jack: Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it.
Sarah: No problem at all. It’s always nice to meet tourists who want to explore the city. By the way, are you here on business or vacation?
Jack: Vacation. I wanted to take a break from work and see something new.
Sarah: That’s wonderful. There’s so much to do in this city. Have you been to any of the landmarks yet?
Jack: Not yet. I’ve only been here for a day.
Sarah: Then you have to visit the museum downtown. It’s incredible.
(Just then, a taxi honks outside.)
Jack: Oh, look! That must be my ride to the hotel.
Sarah: Right! Here, let me call a cab for you.
(Sarah waves down a taxi, and Jack gets in.)
Scene 4: Outside the Hotel
(Jack steps out of the taxi in front of the hotel. He hands the driver money and thanks him.)
Taxi Driver: Welcome to our city!
Jack: Thank you so much for everything! I couldn’t have done it without you.
(Jack enters the hotel and sees his friends waiting for him. He waves to Sarah, who smiles and waves back before walking away.)
End of Play.
